Renu Sharma is a multi-faceted woman who combines in her person, an entrepreneur, a social activist, philanthropist, an advocate of public causes, a mentor for budding industrialists and an advocate of women empowerment. The stamp of her versatility is seen in her every activities.

·      Renu Sharma started her professional career with Indian Express under the intrepid chairman of the Express group late Shri Ramnath Goenka, the well- known crusader for ethics and fundamental rights in public life and freedom of the press in particular.

·      As an innovative entrepreneur, she is the first woman in the nation’s capital to start an independent Offset Printing Press.

·      Her business acumen and constant endeavor to find new business frontiers led her to export precious jewellery across the world by participating in various B2B and B2C exhibition through Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion council.

·      Launched the first showroom of jewellery in Delhi the ‘Tanishq brand by Titan’ of TATA group of enterprises. And also established the first model showroom by the name of Rajwarah Jewellers in New Delhi in 1996. She also has a wholesale jewellery office in USA New York a wholly owned subsidiary of her Indian firm.

·      She was associated with launching of the in-house magazine “YUGANUKUL NAVRACHANA” for the Chitrakoot Project with Late Shri Nanaji Deshmukh, both in English and Hindi.

·      As a former director at the Centre for Bharatiya Marketing Development (CBMD) (a unit of Swadeshi Jagran Foundation), she helped to organize Swadeshi Melas all over the country. The first ever Swadeshi Mela was held at the Somaiya Trust Ground in Mumbai in 2003, with “Boundless Bharat” as the theme, with the participation of numerous Swadeshi Entrepreneurs (indigenous industry).

·      She was credited with introducing the first time Khadi at a Ramp Show called “Paridhan Utsav” (Fashion Show) in Mumbai, Delhi and Chandigarh in India and Malaysia in 2002.

·      To encourage women entrepreneurs, felicitated a few outstanding women achievers in collaborationwith Gandhi Smiriti Darshan Samiti – Ministry of Culture – Government of India, ” SHE THE CHANGE NARI UDYAMI AWARD” started from 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018-19 was given to Women Diaspora from 12 countries during the 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Varanasi was bestowed upon 28 Indian Women Diasporas from all over the world for their outstanding accomplishment and bringing pride to their adopted homes and the their country of origin i.e. India. In further efforts to acknowledge and reward independent women entrepreneurs, also organized events in Guwahati at Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Gandhi Smriti Darshan Samiti and B&S (Beti & Shiksha) Foundation. The latter is a not for Profit and non-governmental organization.

·         As the face of Rajwarah Jewellers and its CEO, Mrs. Renu Sharma, a veteran in the trade, is renowned for creating precious jewellery and understanding the discerning needs of her clients. Recognized on a national scale, she is one of the 13 jewellers selected from India to be part of the Expert Committee for Mandatory Hallmarking formed by Hon’ble Minister Shri Piyush Goyal ji. Renu also holds key positions in various prestigious organizations, including Technical Convener at Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and Vice Chairman of India Jewellers Forum (IJF).

·         Her accolades extend to being a Jewellery Valuer under section 43 AB of the Wealth Tax Act 1957, Senior Advisor at NCR Jewellers Committee, Associate Member at Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC), Zonal Committee Member at All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (AIGJDC), and Executive Member at Indian Council for International Co-operation. Mission Sandhya

Mission Sandhya is an initiative by B&S (Beti and Shiksha) Foundation that is dedicated to provide Migrant Construction Women Workers (with special emphasis to Pregnant and Lactating women) and their children under 10 years with basic amenities that they lack like proper nutrition, clothing, medical aid, immunization and sanitary facilities etc.

The key highlights of the project are:

·         To provide nutritious food to migrant construction women workers and their kids.

·         To provide immunization schedule to kids of 0-10 years.

·         To provide Covid Vaccination to Migrant Construction Labourers.

·         To provide basic amenities like clothing, beddings, books, sanitary facilities etc.

·         To provide medical aid as per requirement.

·         To do integrated research.

·         Tocollectdatabaseofmigrantconstructionworkers.

·         To help the kids enroll in schools if necessary.

Martyrs’ Day

·         In collaboration with Indian Consulate in New York, Gandhi Smiriti and Darshan Samiti, Bharitya Vidhya Bhawan New York and B & S (Beti and Shiksha) Foundation

·         Organized a seminar to pay tribute on Martyr’s Day, commemorating Mahatma Gandhi on his 74th Death Anniversary.

 

Acme

·         “NRI Marital Dispute Victims” 2019: A Bill has already been passed in Rajya Sabha in the month of February 2019. She has taken a very progressive step to unite the concerned agencies and the grieved victims on a platform by conducting and addressing a combined conference in Chandigarh in collaboration with CRPO of Chandigarh under the guidance of Ministry of External Affairs.

·         “Kalinga Fellowship” 2019: The Kalinga Fellowship was a programme that brought together progressive leaders from business, government and civil society to facilitate breakthroughs in thinking and action in the combatting of the trafficking of women and children. The programme was supported by the National Commission for Women & National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (Government of India), Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), FXB India Suraksha, Telengana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS), UN Women, Mission Better Tomorrow (MBT), Traffik Analysis Hub, Halotrade, IBM, Sewa International and Prajwala.

·         “Social Cause & Social Evil”: Actively involved with the Social Cause such as “Child Protection & Child Rights”, “Educational/Curriculum activities for children” “Health & Sanitation programmes”, “Food & Nourishment for children”, “Conserve Water”, “Save Environment”, “Vocational Training for Senior Secondary Student”, “Skill Development programmes for all segment of the society” and “Social Evil-Drug Abuse”.

·         “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace -Violence against Women – (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal-Act 2013”- Seminar conducted on “Gender issues, Discipline & Disciplinary Procedure” to sensitize both employers and employees-2020 at PHD Chamber of Commerce, New Delhi.

·         Successfully organized the “Weaves of India” Thematic Fashion Show in 2022, accompanied by a three-day Trade Exhibition in Guatemala. This event, conducted in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Guatemala (Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India), received a commendable response. The Vice-President and Acting President of Guatemala inaugurated the event, marking a significant milestone in the initiation of trade relations with LAC countries.

·         Following the resounding success of the 2022 Trade Exhibition, received another invitation from the Indian Embassy in Guatemala in 2023. This time, the invitation was extended to conduct a fashion show to promote the Indian Textile Industry, resulting in yet another grand and successful event.
